Inspiration: A rainbow of vintage typewriters

A vintage typewriter can tie your vintage-style wedding together nicely. And what guest wouldn’t love to type a sweet note to the bride and groom on one of these beautiful typewriters.

Bonus: with a little searching, you can find a typewriter in nearly any color to match your wedding decor.

Simply inspiring

I love paper doilies. They make such a lovely little detail for a wedding (when used properly). I’m not talking about a doily under your slice of cake, I’m talking about using them as a repeating theme, tied together with some other lovely elements (in this example, tulle).

And, wow, does The Sweetest Occasion perfect the use of simple paper doilies in this amazing tablescape.

I’m in awe of how very lovely this look is! The colors, the soft details, the simple, yet impactful way that it all ties together.

Find Ties for Your Guy’s Guys

My groom wore a suit for our wedding, and we’ve noticed this trend with a LOT of weddings. It seems that, when the groom and his men wear ties, the bride often is tasked with finding ties for the whole group. I know we scoured Saks, Macy’s JCPenney, a few suit shops and several online retailers looking for just the right ties.

Luckily, there’s an online retailer who offers silk ties –
* by color family
* for $15 bucks each
* with $5.99 flat shipping rate

They even sort them by skinny, trendy or tradition. Score.

I wish I’d found The Tie Bar before my wedding.

Just a Spot of Color

I love the look of a crinoline poking out from under a wedding gown. Even better is a crinoline in an eye-popping hue. Seriously? Fuchia, aqua, scarlet?!

So, of course I am OMG-so-in-love with Wedding Cabaret‘s work. Of course she’s on Etsy, and she hand-dyes your crinoline for a cool $25 (naturally, the cost of the crinoline is separate). If I was wearing a different dress, I’d seriously get 2 — one for the ceremony and one for the reception.

Now THAT would be a fantastic “something blue.”
