Emily Post’s Thoughts on Favors

The always wise, guru-of-etiquette says:

Who told you that you had to give out wedding favors? Etiquette has never thought of weddings as comparable to children’s birthday parties, where the guests might need consolation for not being the center of attention. You owe them only the hospitality of the occasion.

Well then, that folds some cash back into the budget, doesn’t it?

    I completely agree with this post! Most weddings, favors and programs are the two things left behind. Even if you opt to do cookies or candy for favors, people still just don’t grab them. Forgoing the favor puts extra money in your pocket and gives you one less thing to worry about!
