I have posted some proposals that took a lot of thought, time, money or planning.
Today, I stumbled upon an article that pushes that envelope a bit too far.
One man hired an actor and others to present a full day, including helicopter ride and spa day. His reason for doing is what really made me realize how over-the-top it really was. When asked why, his response was that “men want bragging rights.”
Huh?! I expected something like, “I love her immensely and wanted to show that to her.”
Is it really about bragging rights for some men?

And you require nothing smaller than a 1-karet ring … why, again?

Yep. Some people may think that its ridiculous to wish/want for a bigger stone, but I knew I wanted something that I’d be proud to wear. I know more than one woman who wishes her stone was bigger, or wishes she’d not told her husband that she’d be fine with a 1/2 carat.
I guess I don’t see the point in buying jewelry you know you wouldn’t like.
I still stand by my belief that an orchestrated $10,000 proposal is quite different than a $10,000 ring.
