Phew, photographer shopping is tough work!
We began our “world tour” (as the GTB calls it) last night right after work.
We met with Gina of A Truth Be Shown.
She was willing to meet us at a location close to us and was super friendly, she showed us 3 portfolios and answered my list of over a dozen questions with ease and lots of detail.
Her portfolio had some fine shots and I could see why some people choose her for their weddings. She captures wedding moments from angles that often aren’t seen, and with great result.
Her prices were pretty darned phenomenal. She and her assistant arrive on site and snap hundreds (she estimated 600 or more) of photos. She seems to be a Photoshop wiz and claims to be a “perfectionist” when it comes to photos — so you can be sure your photos will reflect that attention to detail.
The 6-hour photo session (with complimentary engagement session!!!), DVD slideshow and online proofing is only $1650! If you want digital negatives to print your own copies (and the rights!) its only $300 extra. For the price, Gina is pretty darned spectacular.
Unfortunately, we are dorks about lighting. While she had great photos with great color, framing and more, we decided that she wasn’t the perfect fit for us.
